This Privacy Policy explains how Video Compressor ("the app", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the app.

Videos and device storage

The app requests access to videos or files that you choose so it can compress them, create thumbnails, save compressed copies, and let you open or share the results. Selected videos, thumbnails, compression history, preferences, and output files remain on your device unless you choose to share them through another app or service.

Information we collect

We do not require an account and do not directly collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, precise location, or video content. The app does not use a developer-operated analytics service or backend for video processing.

Advertising and third-party services

The app uses Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) to display advertisements. Google and its advertising partners may automatically collect or process information such as device or advertising identifiers, IP address, general location derived from IP, ad interactions, and diagnostic data. They may use this information to provide, measure, personalize, and prevent fraud in advertising, depending on your device settings, location, and consent choices.

Sharing of information

We do not sell your personal information or video content. Information may be processed by Google and its advertising partners as described above. When you intentionally share a compressed video, the selected receiving app or service handles that file under its own privacy policy.

Data retention and deletion

App preferences and compression history are stored locally. You can clear history inside the app and delete generated files using your device's file manager. Uninstalling the app removes app-private data, although exported videos may remain until you delete them. Data handled by third-party advertising services is retained according to their own policies.

Security

We use reasonable measures to keep app-private files within Android's protected application storage. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's privacy

The app is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so the concern can be reviewed.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app or legal requirements change. The latest version will be posted at this URL with a revised effective date.
